Eden Project, Cornwall
Client: The Millennium Commission Office: BRISTOL Project Value: £53m
Landmark project for The Millennium Commission, the Eden Project is a showcase for global bio-diversity and human dependence upon plants.
The project involved the transformation of a 60m deep, 34 acre, disused china clay pit to house plant conservatories (biomes). The larger biome, reaching a maximum height of 50m simulates a tropical environment. Warm temperate climate has been created within the second biome.
Northcroft provided Project Monitoring services and Technical Appraisals from inception to completion.
